The Replace device dialog opens when you click in the device information on the Replace device button.
This function makes it easy to replace an INSYS icom router with a new router running the same operating system – icom OS or INSYS OS. The existing settings for VPN connectivity are automatically adjusted and carried over.
A similar procedure is available for upgrading from an INSYS router running the INSYS OS operating system to a router running icom OS, which is also described below. A detailed description of this process, including manual configuration, can be found in this Configuration Guide.
Replacing a router
To replace an INSYS icom router with a new router running the same operating system, proceed as follows:
Click in the device information of the router to be replaced on the Replace device button behind the serial number.
Enter the serial number of the new router in the Replace device dialog and click on Confirm.
Replace the old router with the new one.
Now, commission the new router using the Startup wizard as described in this Configuration Guide (for icom OS) or this Configuration Guide ( for INSYS OS).
Once it has been set up, the new router will reconnect to the icom Connectivity Suite – VPN.
Upgrading a routers with INSYS OS by a router with icom OS
To replace an INSYS icom router running INSYS OS (MoRoS, EBW, IMON) with a new router running icom OS (MoRoS.neo, MRX, MRX.neo, MRO, ECR, SCR, MIRO), proceed as follows:
Click in the device information of the router to be upgraded on the Upgrade to an INSYS router with icom OS button behind the Type.
Enter the serial number of the new router in the Upgrade to an INSYS router with icom OS dialog.
Check the network settings for the new router as described in this Configuration Guide, then click on Create.
Replace the old router with the new one.
Now, commission the new router using the Startup wizard as described in this Configuration Guide.
Once it has been set up, the new router will reconnect to the icom Connectivity Suite – VPN. End points, Navigator and licence settings remain untouched.
