# Quick Installation Guide - icom OS Routers

INSYS routers are easy to install and feature a startup wizard that makes it easy to make them ready for operation.

Proceed as follows to bring your router into service:

## Making the Internet connection (WAN)

1. Connect the network that is used to establish the Internet connection to the router: MRX.neo/MOROS.neo: **ETH 4** MRX/MRO: **ETH 5** ECR/SCR/MIRO: **ETH 2**

1. Insert the SIM card in the SIM tray (**SIM 1**) and insert it into the device.
2. Connect a cellular antenna (**LTE 1**).

**Cellular radio - MRX, ECR, SCR, MIRO**

1. Insert a SIM card (**SIM 1**).
2. Connect a cellular antenna (**LTE 1**).

**DSL/Fiber - MRX, MRX.neo**

1. Connect the DSL connection line to the **VDSL/ADSL** socket or
2. connect the glass fiber line and the SFP module to the **SFP 1** socket.

## Connecting the power supply

1. Connect supply voltage (12 V … 24 V DC) to the router.

Connect the positive lead to the V+ or VIN terminals (depending on the router) and the negative lead to the V- or GND terminals on the connector.

> Please note for routers of the **MRX.neo** series!
> 
> Connect the power supply only to the connector of the card in Slot 1. The **MRX.neo** does not support power supply via cards in other slots.

## Making the configuration connection

**Configuration via Ethernet**

1. Connect the PC used for configuration to the router (**green cable** in the illustrations above in the **ETH 1** socket).

**Configuration via WiFi**

WiFi routers of the series **MRX.neo** and **MOROS.neo** permit a commissioning without Ethernet connection.

1. Connect a WiFi antenna.
2. Briefly press the **WLAN** button. The **WLAN** LED flashes orange.
3. Connect your configuration PC to the WLAN with the SSID **icom_os_…** followed by the serial number of the router.

Once the connection is established, the LED **WLAN** lights up **green**.

> Temporary available open WiFi network!
> 
> The network activated using the WLAN button is unencrypted and does not require a password. It is intended solely for commissioning purposes and will switch off automatically after 120 minutes if the configuration is not completed before then. Please only activate it for a short period and in a controlled environment.

1. Enter https://insys.icom in the address bar of the browser (default: [https://192.168.1.1](https://192.168.1.1/)). A DHCP client must be active on the PC. Otherwise, enable the DHCP client or configure a static IP.

## Configuring the router

A router in default settings will open with a splash screen that provides three options for configuring the router. We recommend using the [Startup wizard](/kb/docs/quickstart-wizard-en) for commissioning.

> Router with outdated firmware?
> 
> If your router has an outdated firmware, no welcome screen will be displayed. If the router is in [default settings](/kb/docs/en/resetting-to-defaults-en), you will be taken to the [user interface](/kb/docs/en/new-and-classic-user-interface-en) after entering the standard credentials (user name: *insys*, password: *icom*).

The **Startup wizard** starts an assisted configuration that enables you to set up the router for

- System time synchronisation
- User authentication
- Internet (WAN) connection
- VPN connection (icom Connectivity Suite or custom OpenVPN or IPsec)
- Local network connection
- icom Router Management

and make the router ready for operation.

**Manual configuration** enables you to configure the router manually for the specific needs of your application.

**Upload settings and files** enables you to upload files that contain a complete configuration, updated firmware, certificates or containers.

The serial number can be taken from the label on the router or its menu item *Status* → *Dashboard*.

Standard IP address: https://192.168.1.1; login depending on configuration; default for earlier firmware versions: *User name*: **insys**, *Password*: **icom**
