# What’s necessary for e-mail dispatch?

In order to dispatch a message via e-mail within an [action](https://docs.insys-icom.com/kb/docs/en/events-actions-and-timers-en#actions), it is necessary to configure the e-mail account in the router and add appropriate [netfilter](https://docs.insys-icom.com/kb/docs/en/netfilters-en) rules.
