What is the difference between the router’s firmware and the mobile modem’s firmware?
The router’s firmware is responsible for the router’s functions and user interface.
The mobile modem’s firmware only affects the cellular engine within the router. For example, it handles the connection to the mobile network and communication with the base stations.
Router and modem firmware are independent of one another. Updating the router firmware does not also update the modem firmware.
To update the modem’s firmware, your router must be running at least version 7.8 of the router firmware. If your router is running an older version of the firmware, please update it before updating the mobile modem!
To update your router’s modem firmware, follow these steps:
Download the modem firmware required for your router or MRcard:
● MRX LTE450 or MRcard PL450: m3psq-ec200s-450-03-A12.tar
● MRX LTE450D or MRcard PL450D: m3psq-eg950a-450-01-07.tarOpen the user interface of your router: https://insys.icom
Open the page Administration → Firmware in the menu.
Click in the upper right corner on and upload the firmware packet to the router.
Click on Submit.
Scroll down and click on in the row of the new firmware version and click on Update firmware in the upper right corner.

Click on Activate firmware.
The router updates the firmware of the cellular modem and restarts. This completes the update.
