Using iRM Cloud: Browser and System Compatibility
icom Router Management (iRM) Cloud is a web-based platform that can be accessed through a browser without the need for additional software installations. This allows flexibility in terms of operating systems and devices.
Supported Browsers
Most modern web browsers should work without issues.
However, there is no official list of supported browsers, as iRM is designed to be compatible with the latest web standards.
Internet Explorer is not supported due to outdated security and performance capabilities.
Device and Screen Size Requirements
Mobile devices, tablets, or other small-screen devices are not currently supported.
We strongly recommend using iRM on a desktop for the best experience, as the interface is designed for larger screens.
Operating System Compatibility
There are no restrictions on operating systems - iRM can be accessed from Windows, macOS, Linux, and any other system capable of running a modern browser.
Using iRM On-Premises: Server and Data Center Requirements
For organizations requiring on-premises deployment, iRM is available in Server and Data Center versions. These require dedicated hardware or virtualized environments to ensure optimal performance.
Application Server Requirements
Operating System: Ubuntu 22.04 Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 (RHEL)
CPU: 8 vCPUs
RAM: 16 GB
Storage: 100 GB HDD
Database Requirements
iRM On-Premises requires a PostgreSQL 14 database.
The database can be installed on the same server or on a dedicated database server for scalability and performance improvements.
If the database is on a separate machine, remote access must be enabled, and firewall rules adjusted accordingly.
Networking and Access Requirements
Web Server: iRM On-Premises operates behind an NGINX web server for secure access.
Ports: Custom configurations can be made to adjust the web interface, API, and router connection ports.
Security: TLS encryption is recommended for secure operation.
Choosing the Right Deployment Option
Deployment Type | Recommended For | Key Benefits |
---|---|---|
iRM Cloud | Businesses needing quick deployment and remote access. | No server maintenance, scalable, accessible from anywhere. |
iRM On-Premises (Server) | Mid-sized organizations managing a fixed number of routers. | Local control, enhanced security, and compliance. |
iRM On-Premises (Data Center) | Large-scale environments with high security and performance needs. | Scalable architecture, high availability, advanced database management. |
By ensuring your infrastructure meets these browser and system requirements, you can deploy iRM efficiently and securely while optimizing performance for your network management needs.
